Episode 28 - Party Animals

The necromancers explore movies where animals steal the show. Having already crossed crocodiles off the list in Episode 9, Bret naturally selects Alligator for his horror pick. Shira on the other hand wants to know once and for all: what is The Truth About Cats & Dogs? Between giant sewer dwelling gators and the questionable ethics of strapping roller skates to a 90 pound dog, the pair find inspiration for their own remixes featuring four legged friends. 

Episode 27 - Mambo Italiano

Grab a slice of pizza and a nice Chianti because Bret and Shira are headed to Italy. As an Italian horror connoisseur, Bret has a lot to choose from but settles on Demons, an old favorite. He's not the only one feeling the nostalgia though as Shira lands on Cinema Paradiso, beautifully scored by the late Ennio Morricone. If you thought Italians were passionate about pasta shapes, just wait 'til you hear how they feel about movies!

Episode 26 - This Much Is True

Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is not coincidental because Bret and Shira are covering movies based on true stories! Is the truth about The Mothman Prophecies might be stranger than fiction? Are Kumail Nanjiani and Emily Gordan as charming in real life as they are in The Big Sick? Come for the answers and stay for the true stories turned crazy remixes! 

Episode 25 - Call Her Halle Berry

It's another actress themed episode and this time Bret and Shira are paying tribute to Halle Berry! Halle Berry! Halle Berry! Halle Berry! Whether she's on the hunt for serial killers in The Call or putting Eddie Murphy in his place in Boomerang, Ms. Berry has more than enough heart and nerve to touch these two genre movie fans. No actor episode would be complete without some original Halle Berry vehicles from our hosts and the darker the Berry, the sweeter the remixes. 

Episode 24 - 100% That Witch

The Witching Hour has arrived and the necromancers are ready to celebrate a different kind of spellcaster. Are witches power hungry women who love cursing people or is that just anti-witch propaganda? Bret and Shira ponder this and more as they cover The Witches and I Married a Witch before brewing up their own witchey remixes. 

Episode 23 - Party Like It's 1999

Bret and Shira just want to go back, back to 1999. The eve of Y2K was both a simpler time AND a legendary year for rom coms and horror movies. The duo discuss the meeting of two 90s screen icons in Notting Hill and then move on to paranormal thriller, Stir of Echoes. Is it just an excuse to resume the Kevin Bacon fan club they started in Episode 10? Maybe. Probably. Come for the Bacon and stay for this episode's radical remixes!

Episode 22 - Don't Wake Daddy

In honor of Father's Day, Bret and Shira let their dads pick the movies. The dads did not disappoint. Bret's dad knows a killer joke when he sees one in Motel Hell and Shira's dad sticks to the fundamentals with When Harry Met Sally. The necromancers finish with some remixes that prove these kids are not alright. 

Episode 21 - We're Anime-niacs!

Bret is a casual fan of anime while Shira considers herself a full on closet otaku but they both agree the medium knows it's way around horror and romance. If you're a horror fan, expect a master class in psychological terror from Perfect Blue, Bret's pick. But if you're really ready to play hardball with your emotions, stick around for Shira's rom com pick, Your Name. Anime is all about pushing boundaries. How cute is too cute? How violent is too violent? Is there a way to be both? This episode's off the wall anime remixes are no exception. 

Episode 20 - A Vera Special Episode

Vera Farmiga is the star of Necromancer's first actress themed episode and it's about damn time! Insta-love isn't just for romance novels because Bret and Shira are head over heels for Vera Farmiga. With her blue steel gaze, Vera goes toe to toe with heavyweights from George Clooney in Up in the Air to vengeful ghosts in The Conjuring. Is there anything she can't do? The sky's the limit as the necromancers create their own Vera Farmiga vehicles. 

Episode 19 - High School Never Ends

Bret and Shira head back to high school to reminisce about teen rom coms and horror. First, they pass by the teachers' lounge to see if The Faculty are still possessed by aliens and then bump into their high school crushes to learn if there's still a spark or they should really just Get Over It. Not ones to stick to labels, the necromancers reinvent their own high school movies.
