Episode 38 - Adapt or Perish

Part 2 of 2. Bret and Shira continue their perusal of book to film adaptations with the master of horror, Stephen King. The duo head to Maine to find out what the hell is in The Mist and then wrap up with perhaps the first ever Stephen King inspired rom coms. Tune in next week for the Necromancer Halloween episode. 

Episode 37 - Because Reading is Fundamental

Part 1 of 2. Bret and Shira go by the book with their latest theme: adaptations. Shira's pick, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, already had legs for days before Marilyn Monroe made this old yarn iconic. It went from popular novel, to comics, to the stage, to the screen and will never stop being referenced. It's the Terminator of women's pictures. Now the necromancers get their turn to adapt and show how movie remixes are a girl's best friend. Stay tuned for a Stephen King classic in Part 2. 

Episode 36 - Judgement Day

Part 2 of 2. Bret and Shira continue to prefer the apocalyptic visions of movie makers to whoever's in charge of scripting the year 2020. Bret's horror pick, Phase IV, makes a strong case for letting ants take over for humans next term. The necromancers then wrap up the theme by pitching their own world ending rom coms. 

Episode 35 - Armagideon Time

Part 1 of 2. Bret and Shira trade the strange and disquieting real world end times of 2020 for the familiar and comforting Armageddon scenarios of movies past. Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, an early rom com effort from Hustlers director Lorene Scafaria, is first. The necromancers then flip the script and dream up their own horror judgement day scenarios. Stay tuned for Bret's pick, Phase IV, next week in Part 2. 

Episode 34 - Natural Born Cheerleader

Part 2 of 2. Who cheers for the cheerleaders? The necromancers do! Bret and Shira break out their pom poms to wrap up this week's theme with the delightfully queer and campy rom com, But I'm a Cheerleader. It's easy to cheer for true love but will it be as easy to turn this cult classic into a horror movie? Listen and find out. 

Episode 33 - Cheerleader of the Pack

Part 1 of 2. Bret and Shira may be low on school spirit but they're high on movies featuring cheerleaders, the theme of the week. Bret's pick, Satan's Cheerleaders is up first. The Necromancers don't know a hurdler from a herkie but they know a thing or two about genre-swapping movies and pitching remixes. Episode 32 - Call Me, Beep Me!

Part 2 of 2. Bret and Shira return the call for another phone filled episode. Shira's pick, Pillow Talk, is up. Will Doris Day and Rock Hudson charm Bret or make him dial 911 to get out? Is Shira even capable of being objective about one of her favorite rom coms? Find out and don't hang up before you hear the necromancers' horror versions of this Hollywood classic. 

Episode 31 - Dial N for Necromancer

Part 1 of 2. Pick up the phone because the necromancers are calling and it's coming from inside of the house! Bret and Shira dial into movie plots featuring Alexander Graham Bell's greatest stolen invention: the telephone. First up is Bret's pick, 976-Evil. The duo then follow Mr. Freddy Krueger's directorial debut with a couple of telephone themed rom com remakes. No nightmares here! Stay tuned for Shira's pick, Pillow Talk, later this week. 

Episode 30 - All Good in the Neighborhood

Part 2 of 2. Bret and Shira are back with the quintessential neighbor horror movie: Rear Window. It might as well be the quintessential quarantine movie too. A lot of us are in the same boat with Jimmy Stewart's protagonist: stuck at home with probably only one or two essential folks coming through to remind you that you aren't alone. Who wouldn't choose to investigate a possible neighborhood murder at this point? If murder isn't your jam though, never fear. The necromancers are here with some romantic reboots of this Hitchcock gem.  

Episode 29 - Won't You Be My Neighbor?

Part 1 of 2. It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. Won't you join Bret and Shira for rom coms and horror movies featuring neighbors? Additionally, Necromancer is experimenting with a new format: splitting the theme into two episodes. First up is Shira's pick, What's Your Number? with a nice helping of horror remixes.
