Episode 116 - Remaking It All Up

Part 2 of 2. Movie: Father of the Bride (1991). The necromancers finish out remakes with the evergreen premise of girl dads unraveling when their girl meets a boy. That's right. Episode 115 - Remake It or Break It

Part 1 of 2. Movie: The Blob (1988). The necromancers decide to follow Hollywood's lead and tackle remakes. Because why would anyone want to see something new and original when there's so much great IP? Such is the case with Bret's pick, The Blob, which more than justifies its place in remake history. Episode 114 - The Name of the Monster

Part 2 of 2. Movie: Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (1994). The necromancers may have some ideas for remixing Frankenstein as a rom com but first they need parts... Enter Bret's pick, Kenneth Branagh's Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. Will Shira appreciate Robert De Niro's turn as the monster or assemble an angry mob to drive him away? 

Episode 113 - Bring Me to Life

Part 1 of 2. Movie: Lisa Frankenstein (2024). The necromancers pay homage to the original monster, Frankenstein. Yes, it's the name of the doctor but aren't men the real monsters in the end? Shira's up first with another Diablo Cody joint, Lisa Frankenstein. Will Bret enjoy a whimsical rom com take on the classic or need reanimation from deadly boredom? Listen to find out. 

Episode 112 - Once Upon a Timeline

Part 2 of 2. Movie: Sliding Doors (1998). The necromancers continue not to heed to consequences of messing with the timeline as they explore the theme of alternate realities. Up next is Shira's pick, Sliding Doors, the alternate reality rom com that launched a thousand "Sliding Doors" episodes of TV. Will Bret and Shira survive the cruel double universe intent on making Gwyneth Paltrow suffer? Listen and find out!

Part 1 of 2. Move: Coherence (2013). The necromancers explore the theme of alternate universes (in this timeline at least). Bret is up first with Coherence, a speculative sci-fi that embraces the infinite social horrors of a dinner with friends. Did they record this before star Emily Baldoni's husband became embroiled in a famous lawsuit or in a universe where it never happened? Tune in (or don't). It's just one timeline. 

Episode 110 - Petal to the Metal

Part 2 of 2. Movie: The Great Race (1965). Bret and Shira drive the topic of "cars" home but not before making a detour through New York to Paris. Surely, they won't be away too long while analyzing Shira's pick, The Great Race. It's not like them to take unannounced, extended breaks... or is it?
